GEIC Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Information and Quantum Technologies
ICFO PhD graduate Paolo Abiuso wins award for best thesis 2022-2023
The first edition of the thesis award of the Specialized group on Quantum Information (GEIC) of the Royal Spanish Society of Physics recognizing the best thesis in the field of quantum information and technology, theoretical or experimental, defended in Spain between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023, has been awarded to ICFO PhD graduate Dr. Paolo Abiuso.
Dr Abiuso defended his thesis titled ‘Optimization and Geometry for Quantum Information tasks’ in December 2022. His work, cited for its broad theoretical contributions in the area of quantum information, including thermodynamics, metrology, and non-locality, was supervised by ICREA professor at ICFO Dr Antonio Acín, leader of the Quantum Information Theory group. The jury included Adán Cabello (University of Seville), Anna Sanpera (ICREA and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and David Zueco (INMA and University of Zaragoza).
Congratulations Paolo!
