Communicating science is an important part of the job of a scientist, because generating new knowledge is useless if we don’t share it with our peers. It is equally important to share this knowledge not only with other scientists, but also with the general public, to make them aware of the importance of science in their lives, and with young students, to inspire them to be the scientists of the future. We know that explaining cutting-edge research to the laymen may be a challenge: the objective of this session is to introduce you to the work of the outreach team at ICFO, and to provide you with the tools and the opportunities to spread the passion for photonics among students and the general public.
